SGT : Selective Grind Technology

Fluid Quip Process Technologies has developed a patent-pending secondary grind step for dry-grind ethanol plants to improve alcohol and oil yield. The SGT system has been in full scale operation for over a year. The SGT system utilizes a liquid/solids separation step to select the right grit and germ particles to grind while allowing other particles to bypass the mill along with the liquid stream. This focuses the grind mill horsepower on grinding the optimum particles for maximum ethanol and oil yield not on making fines or grinding liquid. The SGT grind mills utilize proprietary grind plates designed specifically for dry-grind ethanol plants.

BOS : Brix Oil Separation

The FQPT patent-pending Brix Oil Separation (BOS) System recovers low FFA corn oil from liquefaction. No germ separation or extraction is required. Free oil is recovered from liquefaction via the Fluid Quip Triton centrifuge. 1 Triton Centrifuge can treat the entire liquefaction stream from a 50MMGY dry-grind facility. BOS low FFA oil is a high-value industrial oil feedstock.

MSC : Maximized Stillage Co-Products

Fluid Quip Process Technologies (FQPT)® has developed the Maximized Stillage Co-Products (MSC)™ System to recover high-value protein and increase separated oil from whole-stillage at dry grind ethanol plants. The patented MSC™ System has been in full scale operation since 2009. The system produces Still Pro 50™ a 50% purity protein product that trades in the high-value protein market. Still Pro 50™ is a unique blend of spent brewer’s yeast and corn gluten meal. The protein has shown great success in the poultry, aqua, swine, and pet food markets. The MSC™ system can be adjusted to allow plants to meet DDGS specification requirements by adjusting the production rate of Still Pro 50™. Still Pro 50™ yields can be achieved up to 4.5lb/Bushel; plants can recover up to 3.5lb/Bushel and still meet export specifications for the remaining DDGS. DDGS color and odor can be improved significantly because the MSC™ system reduces DDGS dryer loading.

Still Pro 50™ has shown great success in poultry and aquaculture markets. Feed trails have also shown success in the pet food industry. Still Pro 50™ trades in the high value protein market on average at a premium to Soy Bean Meal.

All FQPT® systems are additive technologies. The MSC™ process can also be used in conjunction with the FQPT® Fiber By-Pass system to recover fiber before fermentation and also produce Still Pro 50™
