Flint Hills Resources Begins Construction on FQPT MSC Protein System

Fairmont, NE – Construction is now underway at the Flint Hills Resources ethanol plant in Fairmont, Nebraska to install Fluid Quip Process Technologies’ patented bolt-on protein technology called Maximized Stillage Co-Products (MSC)™.

The MSC system produces a high protein animal and fish feed ingredient from a portion of distiller grains, a coproduct of ethanol manufacturing. The $50 million project is one of the largest investments in co-product upgrading technologies ever made by a dry mill ethanol manufacturer and marks the fourth MSC installation globally.

“The technology provides an exciting new platform for Flint Hills Resources to compete in the alternative protein feed ingredient market,” said Kevin Karasiuk, plant manager at Flint Hills Resources Fairmont.
